- JUST IN CASE -

I’ve had a few non-cloth diaper friends reach out to me in the last few days because disposable diapers are FLYING off the shelves right now. So, what if you want a few cloth diapers on hand, just in case? Awesome! I think it’s a great idea to be prepared. And, it’s pretty easy, so you might just find yourself converted by them 😊. Here’s my recommendations:

1. Buy 8 ish pieces of absorbency, and 4 one-size covers. For absorbency, I love flour sack towels- a 10 pack is under $8 at Walmart (and you can add them to your grocery pickup!) For covers, I try to support small businesses or American made whenever possible- is a great place to find lots of covers. Shown is a cover that’s totally adorable. Once you’ve washed everything once it’s good to go- just fold the flour sack towel into a pad shape (quarters, then thirds) stick it in, and snap it on! When you change you only need to wash the cover if it gets 💩 on it. Diapers can sit in a laundry basket, 5 gallon bucket, whatever, until wash day.

2. Another option is to buy the bucket. $40 for everything you need! Plus it’s an American company, and their diapers are made in America to boot! The procedure is basically the same, they just use a cotton insert instead of a folded towel. Just stick in and snap on!

And the proud owner of two teeth! 🦷🦷 plus he’s well on the way to walking, and eating me out of house and home. He’s still a highly distractible nursling, so I’m grateful we’re almost to my one-year goal. It’s hard to believe we’re about to celebrate his first trip around the sun!
