Help Randi with her Adoption and Chemo costs.
My best friend Randi Eyestone Gates has recently become a mother to this sweet little guy Ryder. Ryder has been living with his grandparents all of his life. His grandfather recently passed away, and his grandmother is no longer able to care for him because of her declining health.
When Randi and her husband Warren heard about Ryder's situation they immediately knew that he was to be their child. They had been trying to have a baby for many years, but had not yet decided on adoption yet. But, something about his story helped them to make this decision right away. They had such amazingly spiritual experiences as they visited the temple to pray about their decision. They met him and fell instantly in love! He is the best thing that has ever happened to this sweet couple.
Soon after, they got guardianship and little Ryder moved in. A week after he moved into their home, Randi received horrible news. She was diagnosed with stage 2 b-cell lymphoma. She had a surgery to remove her lymph node, and started chemo as soon as she could. They had been saving every penny to put towards the adoption costs. Now they are faced with adoption costs, and the insane cost of surgeries and chemo.
Needless to say this has rocked their lives! In spite of how awful she feels because of the chemo meds, Randi continues to be an absolutely amazing mother to their son. She has so much faith and determination! She constantly bears her testimony about the amazing experiences they have had in the last few months. She never complains about how hard her life is right now. She just talks about how grateful they are to have the light and happiness that Ryder to beings to their home. She says she knows that Heavenly Father sent him to them at this difficult time to bring hope and joy. And she says she wouldn't be able to do this without the love of her sweet, happy boy!
She is such an inspiration to us all! She totally deserves every award and accolade a mother can receive.
