Our family is currently walking through one of the scariest chapters we have ever faced. My niece, Miyah, has recently been diagnosed with an autoimmune liver disease. What started as a sudden health concern quickly escalated, and she has now been admitted to the hospital in Jackson for over a week. Seeing her go through this is heartbreaking. As of right now, we are in a period of intense uncertainty. Her doctors are doing everything they can, but we are looking at the very real possibility of a referral to a specialist in Texas to receive the specialized care she needs. If she does not show signs of recovery soon, there is also the possibility of a liver transplant.
My sister, Kasey, is an incredibly strong single mother of three. She is doing her absolute best to stay positive, advocate for her daughter, and hold everything together during this crisis. As you can imagine, the stress, both emotional and financial, is overwhelming. Between the medical bills, the costs of potential travel to Texas, lodging, and the daily expenses of keeping a household running while unable to work, the financial strain is growing by the day.
ALL PROCEEDS will go directly toward Miyah’s medical care and the family’s immediate needs during this hospital stay and potential travel.
