******LET THE TRUTH BE TOLD!******

For the record, I want to say there are MANY small businesses downtown that VALUE our fellow mom and pop small business VENDORS!! THIS DOWNTOWN BELONGS TO YOU AS WELL!! THIS DOWNTOWN BELONGS TO ALL CITIZENS OF RACINE. A lot of us small businesses don't see vendors as COMPETITION. We don't have a "ME, ME, ME' mentality. I try to get out of my shop to shop at a few of the vendors. EVERY YEAR, before I open for Party on the Pavement, vendors come in and I allow them to shop, because I want them to. I'm flattered!! They also will come to shop during the party. I make money off the vendors, they make money off of me (and other business do the same)!! We will try different foods offered by food trucks. WE ESPECIALLY ENJOY THAT!! SO PLEASE, VENDORS, KNOW THAT A LOT OF BRICK AND MORTAR SHOPS ARE TRULY SADDENED BY THE DOWNTOWN RACINE CORPORATION DECISIONS. GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU HARDWORKING FOLKS. A very kind lady has stepped in to arrange an event the same day where you can have an opportunity to sell your items and bring your food to sell. The event is called MOTION ON MEAD. She is not doing this in the spirit of competing with Party on the Pavement. THEY MADE THAT QUITE CLEAR on the news. I know a lot of you vendors count on your earnings from festivals and fairs for your monthly budget. It is part of your income!! I'm sure this is a lot of missed income for you!! LASTLY, I want to comment on the DRC's statement of "wanting to always focus on the brick and mortar stores, first and foremost, during Party on the Pavement. After all, they are the backbone of downtown" as stated in many interviews on Television, Radio and news articles. If this is true, then why did I have a FOOD TRUCK parked in front of my clothing boutique, COMPLETELY blocking my clothing store when you had at least 20 other spaces to put the truck where it would have blocked a closed business or a city block with an empty field. Also, why would you put the only other food truck on my block directly across the street from my store. So that equals two food trucks in front of my store. I'm only one of a FEW clothing stores downtown and the one of two on 6th St. Why was a PORT-A-POTTY put in front of a beauty salon on 6th street and then they moved it directly across the street and put it front of a restaurant. Then two small business owners just moved it away!! The DOWNTOWN RACINE CORPORATION would HAVE, NEVER, EVER, EVER done this to their FAVORITE STORES ON MAIN ST. To note, I have no jealousy towards any store downtown. I have absolutely no reason to be. I am just stating facts here!!

CONGRATULATIONS Busias XOXO!! This is what community is all about!!

Still trying to wrap my head around this one... ❤️

We are incredibly honored to have been chosen as an Editorial Favorite by Food & Beverage Magazine.

When I opened Busias XOXO, I never wanted it to be just another bakery or just another retail shop. I wanted it to be a place where people could slow down, gather, create, laugh, heal, celebrate, and make memories. A place where handmade still matters. Where community comes first.
We know we're a little different... and honestly, we wouldn't have it any other way.

Thank you to every customer, every artisan, every workshop guest, and every person who has walked through our doors and believed in this little dream in downtown Racine. You are the reason this place has become what it is.

Here's to being different. Here's to taking chances. And here's to proving that a bakery can be so much more than baked goods.

Thank you, Food and Beverage Magazine, for recognizing what we've been building. We are truly honored. ♥️
