Witt’s End Jewelry x GTV
we had the honor to create some one of a kind pieces for GTV with Witt’s End Jewelry. We spent a Saturday morning together over coffee to pick out the gems for each piece. Anna is a silver smith artist in the Black Hills who uses her craft as an expression of herself by and through metal and stone.
I have been inspired, heavily, by the process and story it takes to create something. With that I’ve been focusing on textiles, quilts, folk art, and the wabi sabi of each piece that makes it uniquely its own.
the stones that Anna and I were drawn to this day, together:
LAPIS LAZUL: spiritual awakening, creativity, wisdom, aids relationships.
Initially, I was drawn to the vibrancy of the blue tone in this gem. I picked up Harriet Powers stamps from the usps, earlier this day. Harriet Powers uses story telling through quilting to share her experiences during the late 1800s. We used her quilts as inspiration for the earrings shape.
WYOMING JADE AND CARNELIAN: protection, wisdom, courage, and passion.
red and green have been my favorite color combination, lately. I love seeing these colors in nature, blankets, clothing, and any combo that makes its way around me. With that, we made a pair of earrings and a matching ring that is adjustable. Fits many sizes.
MONTANA AGATE:
I saw this gem, and I initially pictured it as a pendant in the shape of a home. When I think of quilts, blankets, and the most important pieces to me, I think of the comfort that a home brings.
AMMONITE FOSSILS FROM SOUTH DAKOTA:
any type of shell will always reminds me of my dear friend, Savannah. Her heart belongs near the ocean and she has become such a big part of my son and I’s life. I am always inspired by her kindness, love, and adventurous spirit.
we will have more safety pins available in store in the coming weeks.
Thank you, Anna, for creating and making these pieces for GTV. ♥️
