A building legacy that stands the test of time.

Since constructing the original building for Gilbert Associates in 1971, Burkey has had the pleasure of working on projects at the Green Hills Corporate Center for decades since. First with Gilbert and now with Penske , we've worked on everything from MEP upgrades to multi-story renovations to large-scale additions.

Burkey completed a full gut-and-renovation to create a sleek, modern dentist's office. This project was a special transformation for our client, as this is the same building where her father and grandfather had their practices.

Fun fact - the Penn Square Center office building and the General Battery Corp. HQ were both Burkey projects!

March 28, 1978 - This aerial photo of the 600 block of Penn Street shows the progress being made on three construction projects on the north side of the street. Across Penn Street from Pomeroy's, lower left, is the new 10-story Penn Square Center office building. Just east of that building, in the lower center, is the new General Battery Corp. headquarters. Adjacent to the north side of that building is the new Reed and Court streets Reading Parking Authority garage. In addition, a large crane next to the garage is on the site where yet another building is to be erected. That one will be an office building for professionals. All projects are part of the Reading Redevelopment Authority's Downtown East Urban Renewal Project.

We're jumping back in time to a jobsite in 1951 in honor of our 80th year in business - Burkey's first major commercial project!

The Hampden House Apartments consisted of 148 apartment units and four parking garages. Today, the complex is known as Autumn Park Apartments.

One of the best parts of construction is getting to see our buildings in use, and the Redner's Event Center gets lots of it during baseball season!

This transformational project for the Reading Fightins adds new home and away lockers, training rooms, and support spaces to the ballpark. The highlight of the building, the 6,500 square-foot event space, gives baseball fans unparalleled views of games.

The Weitz Healthcare Pavilion is a response to not just a local need for advanced healthcare education, but a national one.

As the construction manager for Reading Area Community College (RACC) , our team had the opportunity to work on this dynamic, state-of-the-art facility that will serve our region for years to come. Featuring simulation rooms and multiple specialty labs, the Weitz Healthcare Pavilion creates an immersive, hands-on approach to meet the changing needs of the healthcare industry.

Thirteen years ago, Westminster Theological Seminary had a vision for their campus. Now, after over a decade of fundraising, planning, design, and construction, Westminster Hall is officially complete.

This monumental building adds approximately 30,000 square feet of offices, classrooms, state-of-the-art studio space, and common areas to the seminary's campus. The building is designed with both Westminster's domestic and global student body in mind.
