After almost 6 years, and I finished our ‚52 Weeks of Socks‘ challenge!
When we started off, I think the both of us did not expect this challenge to last that long! But I am very happy it did, since it turned out it was not just about knitting beautiful socks but the bond that Christine and I shared during that time. Even if it was just something small or silly, we would always have an excuse to check in on each other. See how the socks came along but also how things were in life at that moment. It gave us a means to stay connected and for that I am deeply thankful.
Who would have thought that something as simple as knitting socks can bring two friends closer together?! 💚❤️
Now that the original challenge is done, we have decided to continue! 😊 Christine gifted me the book ‚52 Weeks of Scrap Yarn‘ a while back and since we are both still sitting on a considerable amount of scraps from our last challenge, we thought it would be great to knit all the socks in that edition.
So, off we go! 😆❤️

Happy Easter to everyone who celebrates the Easter bunny today! 🐰🐣🐇
I made a quick little something for the kids today that I hope they’ll enjoy playing with for a little while! 😆🥕
Pattern: ‘Carrol the Carrot’ but I altered it to a finger puppet.
Yarn: Catania in various colors.

This is the second sweater I have previously made on my knitting machine. My nephew is crazy about sloths… as you might be able to tell! 😆 So this was his birthday present this time around!
Both punch card designs for the sloth motif and the sleeve motif are designed by me. The sweater pattern is a simple drop shoulder design, that I think works perfectly for this kind of sweater.
I still have to work on my collar hanging technique. If anyone has some tips there, I would very much appreciate it. Attaching the collar is the hardest challenge I am facing right now.
But overall, I am super happy with the way it came out! 😊💚

I’ve been playing a lot with my knitting machine lately and man, it’s a learning curve!!! It certainly is a different beast from hand knitting! While some techniques are similar, some others need to be learned from scratch. It is a lot of fun but it can also become very frustrating. I ended up reknitting this sweater three times! 🤦🏻‍♀️😆
While it is not perfect, I quite like the way it came out. I love the design, the patterns and the color combination. I think I’ll have to make one for myself too… practice a little more! 🥰
Pattern: myself
Yarn: Cascade Heritage Sock in spring green, forest green and magenta.

It’s been long overdo to show you this beauty of a sweater!
My friend gifted me this amazing yarn by for my birthday in 2023! I was so thrilled by this awesome gift that I immediately cast on the sweater and finished it within a couple of weeks, only to put it in my WiP pile because I was too lazy to weave in all the ends… how silly is that please? 🤦🏻‍♀️ So it stayed on hold until the end of last year, when I finally picked it up and ultimately finished it.
I am super happy with the way it came out! I love the stripes and the collar is bliss! Thank you Rachel for sending me this goodness in all those pretty colors. I am not sure I would have made a striped version, if you hadn’t gifted me those beautiful colors! ❤️ I am so happy you did! Best gift! ❤️

I finished my daughter’s CatKnit sweater just in time for her birthday! I am so excited I could get it done with the limited time I had and that my plan to work the straight parts on the knitting machine worked out! ❤️😊
She picked the yarn herself from my stash and I think she did an amazing job! I love this color combo! I want one for myself now too but I can’t wait to see her face when I gift it to her! ❤️🎂❤️

I am so excited… my daughter and I are both a tad kitty crazy, so when this design came out, it was clear I’d have to make one.
My daughter picked the colors/yarns of the sweater out of my stash and I love the way it’s coming out. I think she did a great job!
As you can see, I just divided for the sleeves but I don’t think I have it in me to knit 26cm of stockinette on US 2 needles, so I thought it might be an interesting experiment to see if I can hang this beauty on my knitting machine and finish the body and sleeves that way… the ribbing will be done by hand again.
I’m excited! Wish me luck please! ❤️

I have to catch up on posting last makes, especially funky Christmas gifts… my nephew and niece are still obsessed with p**p… I mean seriously, who isn’t… 😆😆😆 So, when I asked their mom what to make them for Christmas, we didn’t have to think hard! I can’t tell you how much fun I had crocheting those two little turds! 😆 …and yes, I tried to recreate different textures… they are some hairy, steamy, bumby p**ps with lots of personality… I hope you’ll like it. I certainly do! 😆😆😆💩💩💩
Pattern: I found a Korean video tutorial online
Yarn: stash leftovers

I took my daughter to a needle felting workshop on Saturday and she did such a great job! While there, we each made a floral meadow landscape. This is hers and I find hers turned out nicer than mine! 😆
Once home, she wanted to start a new project, showing that she really got the felting bug! 😆❤️
Super proud Mama over here!
Thank you Erin for hosting a wonderful workshop! We had a blast!
There will be more felting workshops at in the future. Check out their website to sign up. It’s so much fun!

Lately I’ve been working on this beauty of a cardigan. 💜
It’s the ‘Seaglass Cardigan’ by .and.pine.designs
It’s been on my knitting list for a while and I finally got to casting it on. I can’t wait to see the finished result!
For the main fabric, I chose to alternate one coherent color throughout (purple, Vidalana Delight Sock in Trick or Treat), alternated with changing colors from my scrap stash. It’s made me so happy going through all my scraps and finally get some good use out of them!
Initially thoughts on this design:
-it’s a beast!! 😆 I thought it’d be a somewhat fast knit but it certainly takes its time. I am loving it though. The 1x1 colorwork is so much fun!
-the fabric turns out denser than anticipated. It’s more of a jacket than a cardigan. It’ll be perfect for all those super cold winter evenings.
-the technique to hide the yarn tails is a very interesting one… as you can see in the pics, the tails are tied together and then cut off. The tying rolls the folded edge into an icord that then hides them all. Genius!
-I am already making plans for a second one… 😆😆😆
