Congratulations on a great season JJ Pearce Golf

The JJ Pearce Varsity Boys played in the UIL State Tournament this week in Georgetown, playing against the best of the best in the State of Texas! Mother Nature tried to dampen their spirits, but in the end, they were able to play 36 holes of championship golf.

Sophomore Preston Stout tied for second overall with a score of 5 under par for the tournament! And Sophomore Ben Gregg finished tied for 18th place with a tournament score of 1 over par! Senior Jake Christensen finished with a score of 5 over par, and Seniors Luke Eckholm and Victor Elliott played solid golf under challenging conditions that helped the team to secure their 7th place finish. Way to go Mustangs!!!!

Thank you to Coach Buchanan and Coach Grayson, for their investment in the team. Thank you also to Carrie Breedlove, Leslie Slovak, Kevin Pitts and David Collins, who came to cheer our team through District, Regionals, and State.

What a fantastic ending to this year’s golf season. The pandemic brought last year’s season to an abrupt halt, so the successes the team achieved this year feel particularly special!
