Hope's Jammies

Hope's Jammies Making clothes for babies with Hip Dysplasia who must wear a Pavlik harness or similar brace. The emotional toll on the family was heart-breaking.

When my Great-Granddaughter Hope was born, we had never heard of Hip Dysplasia or a Pavlik harness. From the beginning, clothing for her was a problem, as nothing would fit over the brace. Her little legs were constantly exposed and winter was right around the corner. Another issue we faced was the constant questions from strangers out in public places asking why Hope wasn't wearing pants, what wa

s the brace for, or what is wrong with that baby? These were difficult questions to face and it was very tough to even leave the house. After extensive searching, the only option we found were plain white pajamas made overseas at a cost of nearly $40 each and 4 weeks shipping time. But baby Hope needed them, so we ordered 2 pairs. Every doctor, nurse, therapist, and even the pediatric orthopedic staff at children's hospital, were amazed to see Hope dressed in clothes! Not one had ever seen a Pavlik baby in clothes. I knew then that this was something I could help with. I hope your family feels the joy we did when our little one was finally able to wear comfy, warm jammies. Sincerely,

Hope's Great-Grandma
