Hi! It’s been a while!

I’ve been busy with my brother and SIL in town, and playing tourist with them around Oregon. (More pictures to come!)
It’s also given me a great reset and pause - to be more in the moment; to be more present for the memories; to soak in these fleeting days. It was a very unintentional social media break but it did me so good!

As most of you, I love supporting and shopping from small businesses; the products are unique and handmade with love, the customer service is personable, and the feeling that you’re supporting a mom friend or a neighbor is unparalleled.

I just received my package containing Eid Mubarak signage and tags from Home Decor and Organization] and I’m so excited to use them this Eid! I could’ve waited to show how I end up using them but I just had to share them now as a reminder to you all to please cheer on your friends/family/community member’s small businesses and become a part of their success story!

Ramadan is a very different experience when you’re in the thick of motherhood - it’s almost as if you’re an outsider looking in. Your heart may yearn to savor every second, but your mind, body, and responsibilities simply cannot allow it. I’ve come to terms with the fact Ramadan will look wildly different for me while I’m in this season of life, but how beautiful is it to know that Allah SWT sees my acts of service to my family as worship to Him (SubhanAllah)❤️
I pray that no matter what season of life we are in, Allah SWT rewards our intentions - no matter how grandiose, and He rewards our good deeds - no matter how small. Ameen 🤲🏽

My sister and I literally launched this page on a whim. We were baffled at the amount of desi clothes we had acquired over the past years, that were now just hanging in our closets - taking up physical (& mental space). We listed them at thrift-store prices, did our first launch, and the rest is history! Our page gained traction really fast, and it was obvious that more and more desi people were warming up to the idea of buying preloved! We hope by now our audience truly understands the innumerable environmental and economical benefits of buying preloved over new, but the one that makes us the most happy is that thrifting allows loved clothes to last ❤️ FTW! ♻️

A little late on spring cleaning but better late than never, huh? 🙈 ⠀
My sister and I have been stay-at-home mommas to our littles for the past two years, which means all of our work clothes are just hanging in the closet...not being loved.⠀

Our hearts are heavy. So much sadness - on a personal and global level. Eid this year brings about bittersweet feelings but despite the pain and hurt, we must celebrate Eid - as it is our gift from Allah SWT for persevering through Ramadan in His obedience. It is our earned reward and celebrating it is also only to please Allah SWT.

We will be keeping this Eid very simple: we each shopped our closets for our Eid outfits, and will only be visiting our immediate families. We will try to maintain and honor the essence of Eid, while keeping those going through grief in our thoughts and prayers.
On that note, hope you and your families have a blessed Eid ✨
