Celebrating Three Very Special Ladies

As Back-to-School season comes to a close, we want to take a moment to celebrate Aline, Bettye & Theresa- three women who are truly part of the heart and soul of our Children’s Shoe Department.

Together, they have nearly 100 years of shoe experience, but their greatest impact can’t be measured in years or pairs of shoes. It’s measured in the families who return to them year after year.

They’ve watched little ones grow up, fitted children who later brought in their own children, and become part of countless family traditions along the way. Their patience, kindness and expertise have made a simple trip for school shoes something families remember.

For 16 years, Miss Bettye and Amanda have had the privilege of volunteering with the New Shoes for Back to School Ministry—and today was another beautiful reminder of why this tradition means so much to us. ❤️

Today was filled with family, faith, and community. Most importantly, it was filled with so many amazing children who will walk into the new school year wearing a brand-new pair of shoes—something they may not otherwise have had without the incredible work of the New Shoes Ministry.

There’s something pretty special about watching our community come together to make a difference in the lives of children. We are so grateful to be a small part of it, and even more grateful to call Richmond home.

Here’s to another year of new shoes, new beginnings, and the reminder that a little kindness can make a BIG difference. 👟❤️
