Manager of Community Engagement at Naborforce,Helen Burns, spent a special morning with client Sandy and her daughter Jennifer Clifford. We hope to bring awareness to the greater Atlanta area about Naborforce and how we bring Joy to older adults!

Nabor Randee didn't retire, she RE-WIRED!

My thirty-plus years in museum administration ended abruptly during COVID, and I was a bit adrift for a while, longing to find ways to continue to be of value to my community. Rather than retire, I was more naturally inclined to "re-wire." Naborforce offers the right combination of a flexible schedule that I can control and meaningful interaction with clients who often need companionship and stimulation. One of the unexpected benefits has been the opportunity to learn the back stories of many very accomplished people, whose lives and careers have been full of adventure and achievement. I also have been inspired by brave examples of aging with grace and determination to remain independent and self-sufficient, to live life fully and with joy, as long as possible.

Frank, 95 and a proud veteran, recently moved from Florida to North Carolina and into a senior living community. While the move wasn’t necessarily an easy one, his Nabor, Ron, has helped make the transition so much easier.

Over the past few months, they’ve really hit it off. From getting settled into his new home to venturing downstairs and enjoying the community together, Ron has helped Frank create a home. And according to Ron, Frank is quite the checkers player!

A Nabor can make all the difference in helping a newcomer feel at ease, settled, and connected wherever that new home may be.💕

It's all about what you put into it!

"I became a Nabor because I wanted to do work that truly matters. I've always had a special place in my heart for older adults, and I wanted to help people remain independent and age in place with dignity.

What I love most is building genuine relationships, sharing conversations, and bringing a little joy and reassurance to someone's day. The amazing thing is that this experience gives back to me just as much as I give. I leave every visit feeling grateful, inspired, and reminded that simple kindness and human connection can make all the difference."

"I became a Nabor after watching one of my residents light up every time her 'special friend,' Rose, came to visit. Whether they were headed to lunch, a museum, or an appointment, it wasn't about where they went but the friendship they shared.

After more than six years working in senior living, I wanted to be that special friend for someone else. Today, I love bringing companionship, joy, and meaningful connection to the older adults I visit. That's what being a Nabor is all about."
