Our Worn in Richmond Series at Quirk Gallery continues with Jeanie Collin Keys, an artist whose large, wildly colorful oil paintings depict flowers in imaginary settings, evoking memories, dreams, and a sense of deja vu.
Born to Hungarian immigrant parents in Luray, Virginia, Jeanie majored in art education at Longwood before pursuing a career in graphic arts. She owned her own art and framing business for 30 years and spent over a decade selling her prints nationally through Nordstrom (a partnership that began when her very first show sold out within three hours).
Her work has been featured at Quirk Gallery here in Richmond, where she continues to create paintings that are, in her own words, "visual journeys between reality and imagination."
