One of my favorite things about teaching is watching ideas turn into confidence.

This project started with inspiration photos and a concept… and slowly became a full custom look through sketching, pattern drafting, fabric selection, sewing, and presentation.

Seeing him wear the final outfit proudly at the convention made the entire process worth it 💛

Yesterday, Stitch Society partnered with Employ Prince George’s for Career Café at G.J. Gholson Middle School, introducing students to creative career pathways in fashion and sewing.

Through hands-on visuals and conversation, students learned how creativity, technical skills, and entrepreneurship intersect in the fashion industry. Experiences like this help expand students’ understanding of the many career options available to them, especially in creative trades.

We’re grateful to for the opportunity to support youth career exploration and look forward to continued collaboration with schools and community partners across Prince George’s County.
