On the early morning of May 25th, Trent’s parents received the phone call no parent ever wants to receive—their son, Trent, had been seriously injured.
Trent suffered fractures to his C4 and C5 vertebrae in his neck, resulting in an incomplete spinal cord injury. Since that day, Trent and his family have faced an incredibly heartbreaking and challenging journey.
Trent was first taken to a hospital in Midland before being transferred to a hospital in Saginaw, where he spent an extended period in the ICU and underwent multiple surgeries. Once he was stable enough, he was transferred to a respiratory care facility and eventually made his way to Grand Rapids to begin the intensive physical therapy and rehabilitation he desperately needs.
Now at Mary Free Bed, Trent continues to face complications that have made it difficult for him to receive the full amount of physical therapy he needs. Despite everything he has been through, Trent continues to fight and make progress. He is still working to regain mobility and strength in his hands and below the waist, and while no one can predict exactly what the future holds, one thing is certain—Trent is a strong young man with incredible determination.
September is National Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month, and we're honored to launch a T-shirt fundraiser in support of Trent. The shirts will be ready just in time for September, making this a meaningful way to raise awareness while standing beside Trent on his journey.
All proceeds from the T-shirt fundraiser will go directly to Trent to help with home modifications, accessibility improvements, medical-related expenses, and whatever other needs arise as he continues his recovery. Your purchase will make a real difference in helping ease some of the financial burden his family is facing.
Every shirt purchased is more than just a T-shirt—it's a symbol of hope, strength, and community. It's a reminder to Trent and his family that they are not fighting this battle alone.
If you're able, please consider purchasing a shirt and sharing this fundraiser with your family and friends. Your support, prayers, and encouragement mean the world to Trent and his loved ones.
Thank you for helping us rally around Trent as he continues this long road to recovery. Together, we can remind him that he has an entire community standing behind him every step of the way. ❤️🙏
