J9 Vol.1 — THE NINTH AWAKENING

Janine entered surgery hoping to repair a spine damaged by degenerative disc disease. She never knew one of her doctors was an undercover scientist searching for the perfect human test subject.

While she was unconscious, Dr. Marcus Vale implanted an experimental bioelectric material called the Janus Lattice into her spine. Eight previous subjects had died.

Janine’s heart stopped for nine minutes.

Then every machine in the hospital came alive.

She awakened without pain—stronger, rapidly healing and capable of generating devastating golden-white electricity. But when Janine discovered the eight failed test chambers hidden beneath the hospital, she realized she had never been a patient.

She was Subject J-9.

Now Vale has escaped with her blood and enough research to create more experiments. Janine reclaims the name meant to imprison her and turns it into a warning:

“My name is Janine—but they’re going to remember J9.”

An occult signal is systematically erasing individuals from the Royal District's inner city and from collective memory. Sharif must dismantle a machine fueled by purloined souls before he, too, succumbs to oblivion. This endeavor will prove challenging, as he will soon confront a multitude of adversaries and elements from his past. A person's identity is intrinsically linked not only to their personal attributes but also to the individuals who retain their memory.

Reel2Reel Konfederation (R2RK) present:
Issue #1: “The First Verdict”

An innocent young man, Malik Cross, is convicted using planted evidence, paid witnesses, and a coerced confession. As the judge delivers the sentence, every courthouse clock freezes at 11:59. The doors seal, blue judgment symbols ignite across the floor, and The Simmissioner enters.

He announces:

> “This court has judged the accused. Now I judge the court.”

Using the Scale of Truth, he transforms every lie from the trial into heavy black stones. One genuine memory from Malik outweighs them all, exposing the conspiracy before everyone present.

The Simmissioner frees Malik but refuses revenge. Instead, he sentences the corrupt judge and conspirators to publicly confess, restore every life they damaged, and experience the memories of their victims.

Then he discovers the judge’s soul has been partially erased by a hidden supernatural enemy called The Unwritten—an entity that removes truth from evidence, history, and human memory.

The final twist: a celestial portal opens, and The Simmissioner is summoned before his own ancient tribunal for interfering with mortal law. His personal balance scale appears and declares him guilty.

The final line:

> “The first verdict was never theirs. It was mine.”

This launches the larger story: The Simmissioner must expose The Unwritten while proving that true justice requires love, truth, freedom, and accountability—not blind obedience to the law.

ORIGIN:
Born in Jamaica Queen NY, The Simmissioner entered the world during a war that burned the old order to ash. As a child, he watched both tyrants and rebeis commit the same sins in different colors. He saw that power, unchecked, always corrupted-whether it wore a crown, a Cross, or a cause.

He left Long Island NY & moved to California on a search to find himself & was taken in by a secretive order of scholars known as the "Keepers Of The Ledger", monks who recorded the balance of the world in trutins hidden from the masses. There, he was trained in the Laws Eternal-the unseen code that governs all things. He did not wield magic to dominate; he wielded it to correct.

THE FALL AND THE CHOICE:
As he grew, The Simmissioner discovered the order's dark secret: they had begun to manipulate the balance for their own vision of "'a perfect world." Refusing to become a jailer of free will, he destroyed the order's archives and walked away from every title, every allegiance, every chain,
