❤️ What a fun day at Cruise for Colors! ❤️

I had the honor of being invited by Dolly & Company to serve as a guest judge for Miss Cruise for Colors 2026. This was actually only my second time being asked to guest judge a pinup contest. The first was for The Caramelitas back in 2018, so it was pretty special to find myself sitting at the judges’ table again eight years later.

The vintage and rockabilly community has been part of my life for many years. It’s not only something connected to Lil’ Lou Lou or my vintage hairstyling, it’s a lifestyle and community that I genuinely love being part of. ❤️ So getting to experience an event from the judges’ side of the table was such a fun change of perspective.

Congratulations to all of the ladies who participated! ❤️ I loved seeing how each contestant created her pinup look around the specific cause and awareness she was representing, incorporating meaningful colors, details and symbolism into her outfit. It was wonderful seeing the thought and creativity each lady brought to the stage.

A big thank you to Dolly & Company for inviting me to be part of the day and for the sweet gift bag. It was such a thoughtful surprise and very much appreciated. 💕

And of course, I had to represent Lil’ Lou Lou while judging! 😉 I pulled a favorite from the Lil’ Lou Lou Vault. My Jivin’ Skirt in the Rockets print. It may be a piece from years past, but that’s the fun of the Vault…good pieces deserve to come back out and play.

Today’s feature stars a first-time Lou Lou Doll who decided to do something just for herself.
She booked a photoshoot, had her makeup beautifully done by , and trusted me with creating these vintage waves to complete the look.

Between setting the curls and the final touches, we chatted about our careers, our love for fall and Halloween, and even our favorite Disney princesses.

One of my favorite parts of this story is how it all came together. She found me through after seeing one of the reels we created together earlier this year. It’s always special when creative friendships lead to new connections.

Today’s feature stars one of my returning Lou Lou Dolls and her signature classic pageboy. It’s always such a pleasure having back in my chair and bringing this timeless style to life for her again.

Between the heat protectant styling spray and the final mist of hairspray, the conversation wandered from Metallica and good food to her latest sewing projects. As someone who loves to sew myself, I always enjoy hearing what she’s been creating while I work on her classic pageboy.

I first met this sweet soul through , and it’s been such a joy watching her pinup journey continue to grow.

Today, I had the pleasure of styling her hair before she headed off to compete in a pinup contest. Getting ready at her in-laws’ home made the morning even sweeter. They were so welcoming and kind.

Quick fit check before today’s hair appointment.

Had to have a little fun with the one-strap overalls... anyone else remember doing this in the ‘90s? 😂

If you’ve been following me for a while, or you’ve ever sat in my styling chair you’ve probably seen these vintage ‘50s overalls before. They’ve become one of my go-to outfits for styling hair.

Underneath is my Amorcito Corazón tee. Fun fact: this is actually the very first sample I made years ago. It’s been worn, washed, and loved ever since, and it’s still one of my favorites.

Finished off with my Rosie Bandana.
