The Lindal Tørkle. Part of the Lindal Collection, this scarf features a cascading line of increasingly larger short-row shapes, mirrored across both the width and length for a beautifully symmetrical finish. It measures approximately 48” in length and comes with instructions for four variations (A, B, C, and D), each with vector diagrams to help plan your color placement and knitting order. Wear it as a cravat, tied, or pinned with your favorite brooch.

Two incredibly meaningful and powerful symbols of hope arrived in the mail today. The first is a handmade knit “Melt the ICE” hat by that I received just in time for my son’s birthday. On behalf of Hannah and , a donation was made in kind to to support the work they are doing to help new Americans from all parts of the world meaningfully transition to living in Vermont, gaining independence in their new communities, and becoming part of the fabric of this beautiful state.

The second item that I received in the mail today is a memorial card honoring the life and work of . Ilisha passed away earlier this month after almost six years battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer. When first diagnosed, she was only given a couple months to live. Her life story and uplifting messages have brought so many people hope and strength. My own aunt passed away from this very aggressive cancer back in 2012. We had very little warning and less time to process. Ilisha’s journey captured my heart and I followed along as she deliberately approached every day, celebrating life to the fullest as an artist and maker.

I am deeply grateful to both of these artists and makers, individuals who actively approach life’s struggles through their acts of resistance through craft. They are my role models. They inspire me.

The Ferrotype Scarf, part of my Tintype Collection and the new Light & Shadow eBook. This design features a unique center cast-on that works outward in rounds to highlight color gradients. Slipped stitches create a grid-like pattern with optical depth, while short-row motifs span irregular intervals for visual movement and rhythm.
