To me, this year’s standout camper was sweet Alissa. She not only constructed a beautiful dress, she also decorated it with these super unique collages patches of material! Last year, Alissa was one of the designers that I mentored too. I was overjoyed when I found out she was coming back! Her work is always so classic yet still very original. She made a last minute belt with these beautiful little ceramic roses that she found, and used a vintage zipper as one of her dress straps! Alissa chose not to walk the runway this year, a choice that I totally would’ve made as well as a middle school student. But walking isn’t what Fearless Fashion Camp is all about!! It’s about the wildly creative originality that Alissa has shown, two years in a row now. I feel strange saying that I am proud of someone else’s child— but DANG! I am immensely proud of Alissa!! I know people say this all the time; but she truly does remind me of myself at age 12, but she’s definitely more skilled than I was! I absolutely cannot wait to see what Alissa creates in the future, she has so much in store for us, I know it!! 💐💐💐
