After nearly a decade of bringing alternative fashion and unique finds to Rochester, Sweet Poison Cupcake will be closing its doors this March. Our final shopping day will be March 8th, but this isn’t the last you’ll see of us—we’re excited to announce that after a year away, we’ll be returning to Tora-Con at RIT! We’ll also continue to do occasional pop-up events, so this isn’t the end, just a new beginning.

I opened this shop when I was just 19 years old, pouring my heart into creating a space for alternative fashion lovers. Now, at 30, I find myself entering a new chapter of life—one where my focus is shifting toward building a future beyond the shop. While dwindling foot traffic and economic challenges played a role in this decision, we wanted to close on our own terms, ending on a high note rather than struggling to stay afloat.

Most importantly, thank you. To everyone who has ever shopped with us, followed our journey, or supported us in any way—you have been the heart of this store. Your love and encouragement have meant everything, and I hope Sweet Poison Cupcake will live on in your wardrobes, your memories, and your hearts.

This isn’t goodbye—just a shift. We’ll see you at Tora-Con at RIT, and we’ll continue to pop up in new ways. And who knows? Maybe one day, Sweet Poison Cupcake will return in an even more magical form. 💜
