Despite it being the first day of school for many folks, we still had a great turn out on Monday for our $5 5K for the Gift of Life Transplant House 💙 Organ donation saves lives & we were thrilled to raise over $400 for the patients staying in Rochester while they receive care at Mayo.

This is our second year hosting Lace Up for Hope — The Landing MN’s 5K and 1-mile walk!

Last year, Tiffany Piotrowicz, owner of TerraLocoMN , helped bring this event to life and played a huge role in making it such a success. We’re thrilled to have her leading the way again this year, and we are so grateful for the time, passion, and talents she continues to share with our community.

We recently sat down with Tiffany to learn more about her heart behind the event and why Lace Up for Hope means so much to her:

Why is Lace up for Hope important to you?
Most of us are just one paycheck away from being unhoused. Organizations like The Landing are a vital part of our community.

How and when did TerraLoco start giving back to the community?
Giving back has always been a core tenant of TerraLoco's (and my) philosophy. So we have been actively engaged in supporting community causes for over 10 years! Over this time we have contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to the local community.

How is the event going to be different this year?
Did someone say DUNK TANK??!! We're excited to bring you another fun, casual, family-friendly event with a 5K and a 1 mile walk. This year we are adding a dunk tank with local celebrities to raise even more money for the cause.

Why should community members come out and support The Landing MN and our Lace up for Hope event?
A community 5K is a great way to get involved and learn more. All you have to do is lace up your shoes and join us for ice cream and fresh food and drinks on a Saturday morning in July. Not only will you have fun, you'll also get the opportunity to learn more about this great organization, that many of us are just one medical emergency away from needing.

The Landing MN was honored to be part of the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce Women’s Roundtable this past week!

A special thank you to TerraLoco, a longtime partner and supporter of The Landing MN, for hosting this wonderful event. Owner Tiffany Piotrowicz shared why TerraLoco has chosen to support our mission, the value of community partnerships, and how something as simple as the right pair of shoes can make a tremendous difference in a person's health, comfort, and well-being.

Our Director of Development, Erin, provided an overview of The Landing MN and shared how every person's journey into homelessness is unique. That's why we strive to remove as many barriers as possible by offering a wide range of services under one roof—from meals and showers to social services and medical care.

Crystal, our Medical Services Coordinator, spoke about the incredible impact of TerraLoco's partnership. For several years, TerraLoco has collected new and gently used shoes for our guests. Because many of the individuals we serve rely on walking as their primary means of transportation, having clean, well-fitting, quality shoes is more than a comfort—it's essential to their health, safety, and dignity.

Thank you to everyone who attended, asked thoughtful questions, and took the time to learn more about the realities of homelessness in our community. Conversations like these help build understanding, compassion, and lasting change.

And thank you to the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce for creating opportunities that bring together businesses, nonprofits, and community members to strengthen Rochester together. ❤️

I am really proud of myself. For the first time in over 6 years I have held on to a consistent activity schedule.

30 days ago I committed to walking the dog morning & night, Monday - Friday. Then my Garmin started telling me I was on a streak for my step goals. I wondered if I could make my goal 30 days in a row.

After 2 weeks it got easier. I actually *wanted* to go out for our walks. It didn't seem like a chore anymore.

It may seem like a small achievement but for me, it's huge.

And what started as a simple goal turned into so much more. In the quiet moments on our walks I would notice things I'd never noticed before. That's when I came up with the idea for the Adventure Passport.

That's why we emphasize forward motion at TerraLoco. You don't have to be a runner for us to support your goals.
We're here for every season of your life.

Heading back to campus and want to make it a little more obvious where you stand? 🌈

Our Outside Safe Space pins and patches are a small way to send a big message: you are safe with me.

Allyship is more than something you wear, of course. It’s how you speak up, who you make room for, and how you show up for the people around you. But sometimes a visible sign of support can matter—especially to someone who isn’t sure yet who is in their corner.

Grab a pin for your backpack, jacket or lanyard, or a patch for your bag as you head back to school this fall. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Because everyone deserves to know they have allies nearby. ❤️

Fall is just around the corner 🍂

Cooler nights. Better walking weather. A moon hanging in the background while Logan leads the way. And suddenly September doesn’t feel very far away.

Which is perfect, because the Adventure Passport experience officially begins September 1st!

Copies will be in the shop next week - but quantities are limited (only 19 remain). Then it’s time to start exploring — trails, hidden corners, local favorites, little details you’ve never noticed before, and plenty of reasons to get outside as summer turns into fall.

Tonight’s walk with Logan felt like a pretty good preview. 🐾🌙
