Happy Birthday Cha Cha Cha was born out of the desire to bring some much needed joy to the lives of children living in poverty. There are so many wonderful organizations that serve to make their holiday season a bit brighter, but I was not aware of any organization that focused on birthdays. We identify elementary schools In the neighborhoods with the highest levels of poverty And we adapt the K -

2nd grade classrooms. On these children’s birthdays he or she receives two new toys, a book and a 'Cha Cha Cha Bag' full of Basic necessities that includes socks, underwear, toothbrush, toothpaste, soap and a few grocery items including Birthday Cake Oreos. We've only just begun and already the support has been wonderful. Week 11: Feminine Items

As summer wraps up, we looked over our inventory and see that we desperately need packages of fem pads for the middle school girls we support.

Can imagine being a young middle school girl that needs these items but does not have access to them?

How sadly ironic that Dolly Parton passes during the week we are asking for book donations.
Her legacy to spread literacy / access to books is so inspiring. We hope she is proud of our efforts.

Summer Donation Drive
Week Ten: BOOKs!!

Access to books in early childhood has been proven to be a key indicator of long term academic success. However, most of the young learners in our program have not even seen a book since school let out.

Help us change that.

We provide a new book to each kiddo in our program. We’ve found the best prices by far at BookOutlet.com and FirstBook.org.

Sharing we are desperate for shampoo and conditioner for our middle schoolers.

Great sale on the shampoo at Amazon at $3.97/ bottle but I was limited to three.

Week Nine: Hygiene Items

HELP!!

We’ve just been asked to commit to an additional ~200 middle schoolers this coming year.

Wow- that’s + $10,000.

Should we accept this increase ? Based on our current inventory, probably not, but too late, I already said ‘yes.’

Now we have to find a way to get it done.
Can you help?

We provide shampoo, soap, deodorant, body spray, toothpaste/ toothbrushes and feminine needs.
No child should have to go without these basic items, yet so many of them do.

I’ve updated all of our wish lists and registries. Anything at all is helpful.
