Working with so many talented artists is one of my favorite parts of this journey.

Working with Cheryl's gorgeous hand-dyed yarn from has been an absolute joy, and I'm so excited to finally share what we created together. These Imagine Fiber Arts colorways (Radio Waves paired with Velvet Moss) brought this design to life in ways I couldn't have imagined.

One of my favorite things about the fiber community is getting to know the artists behind the yarn. I asked Cheryl from Imagine Fiber Arts a few questions so you could get to know her a little better too. I can't wait to share what we've been working on together.

**What's your favorite fiber base?**

I don't have just one favorite fiber base - how could anyone choose?
My favorite superwash bases are:
* Superwash 50/50 BFL/Corriedale
* Superwash Merino/White Linen
For non-superwash yarns:
* Organic Wool/Linen
* 60/40 Merino/Silk
* Woolen-spun wools from different sheep breeds

**Do you have a favorite color you've dyed?**

I don't have a favorite color because I love them all. What I do have is a preference for working with dyes made from pure pigments. Much like an artist's paint pigments, these dyes aren't simply blends of multiple colors. They allow me to better understand how each pigment behaves, making it easier to create new colorways.

**What inspires your colorways?**

My colorway inspiration comes from many places, but most often it's rooted in observations I've made throughout my life. I don't use other people's photos or software to extract hex codes and analyze colors.
Instead, I rely on memory, drawing from moments I've experienced, places I've visited, and things I've seen. Sometimes, when I want to explain the inspiration behind a colorway, I'll reverse-engineer those memories into images using our design software.
I'm also a sketch artist, watercolor painter, and mixed-media artist. Many of my colorways begin as one of my own paintings. Or, as I call them "Scribbles" or "Refrigerator Art." 🤘

Before I share what I've been working on, I wanted to introduce the incredible dyer behind the yarn.

Fruit cats have arrived to the The 815 Artisan Collective and they are ADORABLE 😍 I also whipped up a giant fuzzy green loaf cat for super cuddling, a few more bandanas, and a few other small things. They are absolutely flipping adorable - I'm sure they'll go pretty quick! They are not listed on my Amazon Handmade shop, so the only spot you can pick yours is in person.
