Today's sermon at Hope Church was about being salt and light, so today just feels like the perfect time to reintroduce ourselves. 💛
Hey, hi! Hello! We're Kacie and Rooster! 👋
Some of you have known us since the Rowdy Maui days. Some of you have only known us through Salt + Light, but one thing we want people to know is that the biggest change hasn't been the name of the store... it's what Jesus has done in our lives!
Before we were business partners, before we were husband and wife, we were two people walking through very different and very difficult seasons of life. Seasons filled with loss, heartbreak, mistakes, uncertainty, and lessons we never would have chosen for ourselves, but God, in His goodness, used every bit of it. He brought us together, strengthened our faith, and gave us a story that points back to Him.
When my mom and I opened Rowdy Maui in 2006, I never could have imagined where this journey would lead. Rooster joined me in 2021, and over the years God has continued to shape us, grow us, and draw us closer to Him.
Last summer, we felt called to dedicate this business completely to the Lord. We spent months praying, planning, and seeking His direction, and at the start of 2026, Salt + Light was born!
Now this shop is more than a place to buy gifts. It's our ministry. It's our way of using the gifts God has given us to glorify Him. From the art we create, to the classes we teach, to the conversations we have across the counter, our prayer is that everything points back to Jesus.
Not because we're perfect (we are farrrrr from it 😅), but because we've experienced His grace, His faithfulness, and His ability to transform lives firsthand.
If you've ever wondered why so much of what we make is faith-based, why scripture finds its way onto our products, or why we're always talking about Jesus... it's because He changed EVERYTHING for us!
Our hope is that this business is a blessing to others, brings glory to God, and helps people draw a little closer to Him. 💗
We're grateful for every person who walks through our doors, every conversation, every prayer request, and every opportunity to be a small light in our community!
