8 Years of Iron Swell! 🌊8️⃣🎉
April 9, 2018 was the day we got the letter from the Secretary of State as an official business in the State of Ohio. It’s been quite the journey since then and a lot has changed since the first year!
Enjoy these photos from the early days, when the business was first established as a Beachfront Bootcamp. My original idea was to bring a “Muscle Beach” type of workout mobily accessible to the Lake Erie/Cleveland area in the summertime. It was a short-lived venture for only one season, but boy was it fun to see the idea all the way through. From the old rusted out work van that my dad helped bring to life as the Swell Van, to outfitting all of the equipment needed to do boot camps and board sports performance classes, and taking all the necessary steps to creating an officially licensed business. It was a ton of work and I used every dollar I had in savings to create the business, but as they say—if you wait for the perfect time to start, you’ll probably never get started.
I never would’ve imagined the business becoming a clothing brand back then, but this has been a fun venture in itself in a completely different way. We’ve officially been selling tees since 2021, and although things have shifted a bit, I don’t have any plans of stopping just yet. Here’s to (hopefully) another 8+ more. 🤘
