I heard a sermon that struck me about Jesusā birth.
When the wise men came to Jerusalem and told Herod about Jesusā birth itās not recorded that anyone went to go look for themselves to see if it was true. No one went to see if the messiah the Jewish leaders and priests had been looking forward to had been in fact born.
And do you know the distance they were away? 6 Miles.
A daylong stroll is all it wouldāve taken them to meet the supposed King. But none went to look or investigate. Herod sent others to hopefully kill him later and none of the Jewish leaders went after He was born.
It saddens me they were so close and didnāt go. And yet, how often do we turn our eyes and hearts towards something else when Jesus is so close?
Jesus says:
āLook! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.ā Revelation 3:20
The historical evidence alone demands that you look. The Gospel gives you the most precious reason to look.
Jesus himself knocks on the door of your heart asking to accept Him in.
Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Today and every day after. He is worthy of your time, attention, praise, and life. Forgive me Lord when I fail to remember You in all that I do. Help me to seek You the way You seek me. Thank you for your Son.
Love you all and praying you are invited into sweet communion with Jesus this Christmas ā¤ļø If you have questions about that please reach out, Iād love to share the good news with you!
