⬇️🚨To my clients🚨⬇️
READ READ READ
I want to start this by saying I truly love what I do and I love the relationships I’ve built through Brooke’s Beauty Bar. A lot of my clients have become genuine friends to me, and that’s something I’ll always be thankful for, but there are a few things that need to be addressed.
Recently I’ve felt extremely taken advantage of when it comes to my business, my time, my policies, and honestly just the respect aspect of things. The no-shows, last minute cancellations, constantly changing appointment times, booking one service and showing up wanting something completely different, disregarding pricing, policies, etc. have become overwhelming.
I think because I’m close with a lot of my clients, some people feel like it’s “not a big deal” or that I’ll just work around it, but this is still my business and my livelihood. When someone no shows an appointment, that doesn’t just affect me financially, it also takes away a spot from another client who genuinely wanted and needed that appointment time.
I’m 23 years old and I run this business completely on my own. I’m not just a nail tech. I’m the receptionist, accountant, cleaner, inventory shopper, social media manager, customer service rep, scheduler, tax person, and everything else behind the scenes. I pour everything I have into this business because I genuinely care and want it to continue growing.
But lately, if I’m being honest, this has started making me fall out of love with something I used to enjoy so much.
Because of that, I’ll be taking Friday through Monday to myself to reset mentally and emotionally. I need time to regroup and figure out how to move forward in a healthier way for myself and my business.
Going forward, my prices and policies are set in stone. They are posted on my Facebook, Instagram, GlossGenius, and booking site. I’m putting all of this out there very clearly so nobody is surprised moving forward about prices, policies, fees, or expectations.
• No shows will be charged the FULL base price of the missed appointment.
• If you no show, future appointments will require full payment at the time of booking.
• Cancellations within 24 hours will be charged.
• Please book the correct service.
• Please respect appointment times and my schedule.
At any other business or appointment, if you no show, you get charged. It’s never really a question. Unfortunately I’ve been too lenient for too long because I care about my clients and the relationships I’ve built, but I can’t continue running my business this way. Being understanding and kind has unfortunately started being mistaken for me not valuing my own business.
I hate that this even has to be said because I truly never wanted my business to feel “strict,” but I have to start protecting my time, energy, and income the same way every other business owner does.
And honestly, if these very simple policies cannot be respected, I will have to start letting go of these clients in order to keep my business healthy, positive, and running the way it needs to. I don’t want to do that at all, but I also cannot continue allowing disrespect toward my business.
I love my clients so much and I appreciate every single person who supports me more than you know. I have so many exciting things planned for the future of Brooke’s Beauty Bar & Boutique, and I want this business to continue thriving. I just need the same respect and care in return.
