My oldest friend convinced me to go to camp back in 2012 🏕️🇺🇸

Emma actually did some research, wanted to travel so signed up for 2014 🙌🏻

If you’d told us we’d still be going in 2026 — and that I’d turn it into a career — I never would’ve believed you.

Meeting each other there and now watching our daughter experience camp too? That part still feels unreal ❤️

We’re making a comeback 🙌🏻 The last 12+ months have been busy - welcoming our little girl, getting back to camp, seeing her experience camp for the first time, juggling work and life. Upstate Living and social media took a back seat.
But we’re back 💥
Expect more summer content, real camp advice and some exciting things dropping on the website soon (just in time for camp 👀). We’re heading back to camp for Summer ‘26 and we can’t wait to see where you end up too!

Upstate Living was set up in 2024 to give people the best advice on how to find their own summer camp home.
I found mine in 2012 when I landed a job at Timber Lake West in New York.
I have worked at West every summer since, met my wife at camp, travelled to countless places and have worked in the camp industry year-round since 2019.
