A New Chapter for Annie’s Trading Post ❤️
This is probably one of the hardest posts I have ever had to write.
After more than 34 years of pouring my heart, time, energy, and life into Annie’s Trading Post, our family business is for sale.
Annie’s has never been just a store to me.
It is part of my family.
In 1989, my mom, “Annie,” and my dad started this little Northern Minnesota business with a dream, a lot of hard work, and a love for our community. Over the years, Annie’s grew, changed, survived challenges, celebrated successes, and became a place where generations of customers have walked through our doors.
I have been incredibly proud to carry on what my parents started.
Last November, after my accident and breaking my neck, life changed for me. I had to begin looking at my health, my future, and what I realistically could continue to give to a business that requires so much energy and dedication.
That is when I made the difficult decision to list Annie’s Trading Post for sale.
This isn't because I stopped loving Annie’s. Quite the opposite.
I love it enough to know that I would rather see someone new come through these doors with the health, energy, ideas, and excitement to carry it forward than watch something my family spent decades building simply disappear.
My greatest hope is to find the next family—or person—who sees what Annie’s can continue to be.
Someone who wants to own a truly unique business in our small Northern Minnesota community of Roseau. Someone who sees the history here, but also sees the possibilities for its future.
There is so much opportunity for the right person to make Annie’s their own while continuing a business that has been part of this community for decades.
And to our customers and our Roseau community...

Thank you for shopping here. Thank you for bringing your children and grandchildren through our doors. Thank you for supporting my mom and dad's dream and then supporting me as I carried it forward.
Small businesses don't survive for decades without loyal customers and a community that believes in them. You have given our family something incredibly special, and I will never take that for granted.
For now, Annie’s Trading Post is still here, our doors are open, and we would love to see you.
But I am also putting this message out there in hopes that somewhere is the right person or family who has been dreaming of owning their own business and might just look at Annie’s and think...
“Maybe this could be our next chapter.”
