Modern Vintage is popping up at 207 E. Hennepin in the most darling neighborhood from now until the New Year! Kramarczuk’s Deli has partnered with us to support Second Harvest with a portion of our proceeds. Our hours will mirror the Deli with the exception of us being open this Sunday from 11-4.

I haven’t refinished a piece of furniture for a year and a half as Covid kicked my butt, and my hands couldn’t grip a paintbrush. I’m better now, and I had fun redoing this handsome piece yesterday night. I think I’ll keep it!

After a planes, trains and automobiles-like attempt to get home via Hilton Head, Savannah, Charleston, Boston with a few layovers over 24 hours, I returned and boxed all Etsy orders the 14 year old didn’t get done. (She did mail out 8 boxes for me, though.) I had to ship my clothes home as my suitcases were so full of fantastic finds. I was stopped at every security checkpoint for them to rummage through my treasures and ask questions about my loot. This also caused me to have to be frisked in a very handsy manner by some unsmiling female security guards. I think you will find it was worth it as I post more fun items on my Etsy site. The Neanderthals broke two items, but most things returned to MN in good condition.

Covid has brought more time to organize, re-imagine and create. Since I have not become a master seamstress, my carefully curated (hoarded stash) of vintage fabrics and trims has taken a new life. A patch of pumpkins and garland for every season has emerged from my stacks of supplies. A new vision for decorating and a needle has gotten me through 2020!

It is looking fantastic out at the Trader’s Market in Elko! Loads of treasures, a new farmer’s market and plenty of food trucks to sustain you while shopping. I’m in the Emporium building.

I’m getting set up out at the Trader’s Market in Elko for July 3, 4, and 5. There are extra hand washing stations, vendors have checkout spaces outside their booths to allow customers more space to shop and PayPal & Venmo are encouraged to allow people to keep their distance from one another.
