The general census is that we are not okay! But two truths: Quality will sell. And quality will last. That applies to the material, the product, and especially the skills of the artist. There will be a lot fewer of us soon...

Rainy weekend had me working on my website. It's just hard to be creative when the weather is so dreary.

After a long break I'm building my socials back up. Any reactions or shares really go a long way to help!

I'm back!!! I'll give details in the next post. For now, it's off to the fluffy place. It's been a long (but satisfying) day at the bench!

These are the necklaces left over from the Topeka Gem & Mineral Show last weekend! Don't miss your chance to snag one at show prices before they go back to retail!

I'll be honest- one thing that holds me back as an artist is my prices. I keep them low and barely pay myself back for materials, overhead and fees so that I can be a service to the local markets. This not only prevents me from growing- it hurts other artists in the online market and little by little it drains the creative energy from me because I undervalue myself. This has been a long battle for me and while I thought I was doing better, in reality I am still only charging wholesale!

I have another show coming up next month and if I'm going to make more pieces, some of these need to go! So tag, share, tell your friends! Holiday shopping is getting started and what better place to shop than from a handmade artist's boutique?

Here is the newest Treasure in the house! This is my first pendant featuring two stones and mixed metals! Pink conch shell and a 'fantasy cut' green variety of Kingman turquoise. I say fantasy cut because it's the only word I can find to describe the bevel characteristic while it is still very much a cabochon and not a faceted gemstone.

Made from sheet sterling silver and jeweler's brass wire. All hand-formed, sawn, filed and polished with a series of rotary tool attachments. Another great Ash Collins piece in the books!

Maligano Jasper, Variscite and Larimar... all great quality materials and all stabilized here in my home studio. I'm getting down to the nitty gritty of my rough lapidary materials and decided to stabilize some of the stuff that was too soft or weak to work before. No regrets!

These three, along with several strains of turquoise, are my all -time favorite flavors!

I'm sure gonna miss this one! She went to her forever home today at the Topeka Gem & Mineral Show. So did many others that I will miss, as every piece I create is a small piece of me.
