Hi, friends! It’s been a minute.

If you’ve been wondering where I’ve been, I wanted to pop in and say hello! As many of you know, I’m also a flower farmer, and this time of year is the heart of my growing season. Between harvesting blooms, making bouquets, and keeping up with the flower stand, Petal & Patina has had to take a little bit of a back seat.

But I’ve been collecting behind the scenes, and I’m so excited to share a new collection with you this Friday! 🤍

I’ll be posting a preview tomorrow (Wednesday 7/15), so keep an eye out. I can’t wait to show you what I’ve found. Thank you for sticking around while I balance both of these little dreams of mine. It truly means so much.

A little reintroduction + an exciting change.

Back in February of 2025, my friend Kayla and I started Handpicked Home together. A year later, we decided it made the most sense to separate our online shops since we ship from different locations, and it was becoming confusing for customers. That’s when Handpicked by Mads was born as a sister shop to Handpicked Home.

Over the last few months, I’ve realized I wanted a shop name that truly reflects me and the things I love most. As an Illinois flower farmer with a love for vintage, Petal & Patina feels like the perfect fit 🌿🦋

So tonight at 9pm CST, Handpicked by Mads will officially become Petal & Patina Vintage.

You saw the yard sale that turned out to be an entire estate… and this is what came home with me.

Every single piece you see here was part of someone’s life. Collected, used, loved, and then left behind waiting for a second story.

I kept thinking about the stories shared with me while I was there. The rooms these lived in. The hands that held them. It never feels like “just stuff” when you know a little bit of where it came from.

There is something really special about giving these pieces a new place to land instead of letting them be forgotten.

I am so excited to start sharing these with you and watch them find new homes again.
