All smiles... and then some! Picked up my Main Street Russellville prize cheque at the Depot last week for first place honors for My 4th of July windows. That's 250 dead presidents toward my renovations of the Bud White Building. Neat-o torpedo! Thanks Main Street Russellville for having a store front decorating contest that brought everyone in HDR together to make our downtown festive for our nation's 250 anniversary.

I found this matchbook upstairs at the Bud White Building during renovations. MiLady's was a hair salon located on the other side of Beatnik Angel on B Street. The match book has the address as North Denver (Cool Cat Creamery) in the Bud White Building. That was before my time. I guess they moved to B Street location (The Cavern) later. All the women in my family had their hairdos done there.

See that extra-large coffee... that's how much I love Big Cupa's coffee! Hate to be a drip, but I have crying sad news. Big Cupa will supposedly be closing its Russellville location at the 500 Building at the end of the month. Big Cupa plugged in its percolators on August 1, 2024. So, gather up your punch cards and use them now.

Elvis is in the building! The King arrived all in one piece, safe and sound yesterday. Elvis will rest in a prominent place at Beatnik Angel. Now I am an official member of the un-official Pope County Elvis Presley bust club. Why am i suddenly craving a peanut butter and banana sandwich? Who else has an Elvis bust. Share your pics!

My friend Downtown Doris knows all the goings-on in our HDR. I want to say this is hearsay, but DD is a reliable source. She said she heard that there is going to be a second vintage clothing store that is also going to sell mid century modern furniture! See what I've started! I'm excited! A great business to have downtown. It will be next to Mullen's. And yes, I will be ACTUALLY open when I get the ac fixed and it gets cooler. Right now it is like a sauna inside Beatnik Angel.
