𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘇𝘆 𝗯𝘂𝘁...𝗮 𝗕𝗥𝗨𝗦𝗛 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗹𝘀 😮 ⁣

If you’re a curly girl you’ve been taught or learned that taking a brush to your hair is a 𝗕𝗜𝗚 𝗡𝗢 𝗡𝗢 🛑. Yet that is exactly what I did and this here is 100% my natural (and even slept on) curls 🤯. ⁣
⁣
𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙬𝙚𝙞𝙧𝙙 𝙢𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙘 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨? ⁣

Curly friends, if you haven’t been introduced to the by now you are missing out! ⁣
⁣
Now, I remember one of my beauty school instructors back in the day swearing by this brush, but honestly I felt like he was outdated and out of touch at the time 😬 Like how can this basic looking brush really be all that great 🤨 Apparently he was right and I was wrong 😂 Oops!⁣

Not only did I not know how amazing this brush was as-is, but I also did not know that you can actually remove some of the rows of bristles to make bigger clumps of curls 🤯⁣

To say my mind is blown is an understatement! ⁣

I’ve been growing my hair out for awhile now and of course just as my hair is now the longest it’s been since high school, I get the urge to chop it all off 😂⁣ Can anyone else relate to this hair dilemma?

▪️ 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗼𝘄𝘀. 𝗢𝗿𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗶𝗴𝗹𝗶, 𝟭𝟵𝟲𝟬 ▪️⁣

Came across this photo on a friends feed and fell in love with it 💗 It’s a combination of some of my very favorite things: 𝙉𝙚𝙬 𝙔𝙤𝙧𝙠, 𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝙜𝙡𝙖𝙢𝙤𝙪𝙧, 𝙛𝙞𝙚𝙧𝙘𝙚 𝙛𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙖 𝙘𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙘 𝙘𝙖𝙧! ⁣

I definitely going to need to get a print of this up in my house stat! 🖼 ⁣

Here’s the cool story behind the photo from the photographer:⁣

"In 1960, while a construction crew dismantled a row of brownstones right across from my own brownstone studio on East 58th Street, I was inspired to, somehow immortalize those buildings. I had the vision of 43 women in formal dress adorning the windows of the skeletal facade.⁣
⁣
We had to work quickly to secure City permissions, arrange for models which included celebrities, the demolition supervisior’s wife (third floor, third from left), my own wife (second floor, far right), and also secure the Rolls Royce to be parked on the sidewalk. Careful planning was a necessity as the photography had to be accomplished during the workers’ lunch time!⁣
⁣
The day before the buildings were razed, the 43 women appeared in their finest attire, went into the buildings, climbed the old stairs, and took their places in the windows. I was set up on my fire escape across the streeet, directing the scene, with bullhorn in hand. Of course I was concerned for the Models’ safety, as some were daring enough to pose out on the crumbling sills.⁣
⁣
The photography came off as planned. What had seemed to some as too dangerous or difficult to accomplish, became my fantasy fulfilled, and my most memorable self - assigned photograph. It has been an international award winner ever since.⁣

Most professional photographers dream of having one signature picture they are known for. “Girls in The Windows” is mine."⁣

𝗦𝘄𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘁 𝘆𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗽𝘂𝗺𝗽𝗸𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝗮𝗯𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 🎃🍁 And look how absolutely beautiful and glowing she is 💗⁣

If you haven’t guessed it by now, I love to decorate and host parties 🎊 It brings me so much joy to plan, craft and execute such special celebrations for my loved ones 💗 Here are just a couple tips and tricks and I’ve picked up along the way:⁣

🔸Photo backdrops are key! They elevate the decor so much. ⁣
🔸Balloon garlands are super inexpensive, easy to make and add dimension to your backdrop. ⁣
🔸 is the best for table wear (table clothes, plates, napkins, cutlery, cups, serving trays, etc.)⁣
🔸Buy staple items in neutral colors (i.e. decorative buckets, silverware holders, beverage buckets, etc.) Some of these items I have had for 10 years and still get plenty of use of out them! ⁣

𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 💃🏻 This time of year is the busiest for me with birthdays, holidays and events! ⁣

Today I am crafting my little creative heart out for my little sister’s Pumpkin Patch Baby Shower 🎃🍁 It’s been A W H I L E since I’ve done a diaper cake, but I think I’ve still got it 😉 ⁣

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝘆 #𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗻 #𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆 💜 ⁣

It’s been 2 1/2 years between the photo on the left and the photo on the right. My hair was dry, frizzy, dull and thinning around my temples. I constantly teased the heck out of it to create the illusion of fullness. AND I thought I was using good “salon quality”products. ⁣
⁣
Flash forward to now! Actually fuller hair that is shiny, bouncy, smooth and healthy 🙌🏼 I’ve even gone blonde, to red, to brunette again over the last couple of years and still have the health and integrity of my hair intact 🙌🏼⁣
⁣
Now I have never been loyal to one brand for an extended period of time. I always mixed and matched, tried new things and used whatever I thought would give me the results I wanted...results I never actually achieved until I started using MONAT 💜 ⁣

So here I am... 2 1/2 years later still using the same brand of amazing haircare and skincare and I couldn’t be happier with my results ✨⁣

Floored by the incredible design talent in Sacramento yet again! Congrats to all the design teams tonight 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 You all put on an amazing show and it made it incredibly hard for us judges. Thank you to for inviting me to co-judge with the talented, hilarious and fun and . Such a fun night!

5 years ago today I experienced my first fashion photo shoot collaboration where this inspired dress I created in school was modeled by the beautiful Haylee McCarthy. It was my first time working with some of Sacramento's most talented creatives: Tom Huynh, Photographer , Jasmine Cardenas Make-up , hairstylist Sui Crusett and fashion stylist Faatui Toele. I didn't know it then, but soon found out how supportive the Sacramento fashion community is and that this little collaboration would lead to more 😊 💕
