I asked my 7 year old if she would like the back of her dress hemmed since it is dragging in the back, “No, I like the train…” she says, “But can you add a bustle?” 😅

Only a child of a bridal seamstress would even know the term! Bustle completed!

(She chose clear buttons, so she could see them better)

These elegant dresses beautifully capture the refined glamour of the late Art Deco era, dating from approximately 1935 to 1939. Unlike the heavily beaded flapper fashions of the 1920s, late 1930s designs embraced graceful silhouettes with softly defined waists, flowing skirts, structured shoulders, and feminine tailoring. The pastel palette of powder blue, blush pink, peach, sage green, and cream reflects the sophisticated daytime fashion favored by stylish women before World War II. Accessories such as tilted hats, leather gloves, handbags, and classic pumps complete each ensemble with understated elegance. These timeless designs illustrate how Art Deco fashion evolved into sleek sophistication while maintaining impeccable craftsmanship and effortless charm.

My client, Roxanne sent me photos of the outfits I altered for the black-tie wedding she attended:

Photo # 1: Roxanne wearing her beautiful green jumpsuit at her event:

The alterations I completed on this outfit include a formal pant hem, taking in the waist, and adding back panels where the outfit was backless.

Photo #2: My clients in the center: Joellene in a gorgeous gold and black gown, and Roxanne, wearing a fabulous black gown.

Both dresses were hemmed. For Roxanne’s black gown we added a bustle, adjusted the dress straps, and created the feather sleeves that wear like a bolero! This was Roxanne’s idea, and it was so fun to execute.

Thank you, Roxanne for sharing your photos with me! You and Joellene look so pretty! Your dates look really nice too!

The beautiful bride Rachell sent me a photo of her Wedding Day!

For this lovely gown the alterations I completed were the bridal hem, bustle (not shown here), and adjusting her straps for the perfect fit!

It was a pleasure working with Rachell and her stunning gown. Thank you for the beautiful photo! Congratulations on your wedding! 🍾

These lovely ladies looked stunning at their recent event!

My client, Mother-of-the-Groom, Koleen (on the right), had an issue with her beautiful blue gown from the boutique just a few weeks before her event! Thankfully, her replacement arrived in time for alterations.

For this dress, I was able to adjust the bodice size and complete her hem. This dress has a specialty hem, known as a bagged hem with horse hair, which gives this dress a very high-fashion effect!

Thank you for sharing your photo, Koleen!
Both of you ladies look amazing!
