Speak Life Youth Ministries is a faith based 501-c3 dedicated to promoting Godly living, faith based morals and values, gang prevention, and achieving victory in career goals through tutoring, and motivational sermons. We reach out to male teens ages 13-17. OUR MISSION

SPEAK LIFE YOUTH MINISTRIES HISTORY AND VISION FOR OUR FUTURE
Speak Life Youth Ministries was established in 2010. However, it will not be in full operations until 2022. The reason for that is Rev. Ta- Raj Benness and his wife Patricia was in what some would call a unfortunate predicament. Rev Ta-Raj Benness is currently finishing up a 25 year prison sentence. Being the loving and supportive wife that Patricia is, she made sure that he hadn't spent a day along in prison by himself. During Ta- Raj 's prison stay, he had an experience for a lack of a better term, and went from a spiritually dead street criminal, to a devoted born again Christian. He had done everything that there was to do in the streets and was in desperate need of a new life. Once he decided to do that, God then opened the flood gates of heaven for him, and the blessings poured in. One of those blessing was in the form of a beautiful wife and an idea that would affect a lot of young men that's in the same place Ta-Raj was once in. That idea was to start a youth ministry that shared the gospel of Jesus Christ. Offering classes that was meant to assist these young men in all areas of life. After sharing his life with his now new wife, Patricia was moved by the idea of starting this ministry once Ta-Raj was released. Having difficulties coming up with a name for the ministry, one day the spirit spoke to Patricia. As clear as the blue sky, it told her to tell her husband to name the ministry Speak Life Youth Ministries. Over the years Ta- Raj and Patricia both threw ideas around as to what their ministry would look like. All they knew was that it would be designed for the betterment of troubled young men who wanted more out of life. That's when the idea of offering classes like: gang prevention, short and long terms goal settings, financial literacy, and career choices came about. But one thing that Ta-Raj and Patricia both knew was that God had to be front and center of this ministry. Sharing his story with these young men about how Christ delivered him was mandatory. So that is one of the most important aspects of the ministry. These young men have to know how true change is possible and without God you have nothing. It's been said that if you want to make God laugh tell Him your plans. That rings true in Ta-Raj's case because he had no intentions of starting a youth ministry. His goal and dream was to get out of prison and start a clothing store. So when God put it on his heart to start a ministry he was taken aback. His passion was else where but God is faithful. Along with the desire to start a clothing store, he later found out that he loved cutting, locking, and braiding hair. Then the next great idea came. God told Him to do all three things in one location, and there you have it. When you put your trust in God and allow Him to be the author of your life, you'll find out that it's win win situation each and every time. The future for Speak Life Youth Ministry is to grow the ministry to its full potential. Allow God to lead each step of the way and to be a vessel for His purpose and glory. Speak Life plans to serve its community by providing it with a worthy cause. Mentoring, teaching, and leading the youth down a path of righteous. ABOUT SPEAK LIFE BARBERSHOP
WHAT IS SPEAK LIFE BARBERSHOP? Speak Life Barbershop is one of the three entities that's under the Speak Life brand. in 2022. Sharing this space with a youth ministry and clothing store. The shop is a one chair shop, aimed to bring quality hair care services to everyone in the community and surrounding areas. It'll have a reputation of being the most reliable and accessible place to get your hair care needs met on virtually any schedule This is due to the broad range of operating hours and the option of making appointments. Mr.Benness (aka Raj) is the sole owner and operator of this shop. A master barber as well as a braid and lock ( formally known as "dreadlocks") installer and stylist. The shop will have a variety of new cuts and styles, as well as traditional styles to chose from. Including but not limited to:

In addition to offering great services, the barbershop donates 10% of it's total net revenue to Speak Life Youth Ministries. Speak Life Barbershop is a shop that prides itself as a community oriented establishment with the clients best interest at heart, all while delivering quality barbering and extraordinary services to all. ABOUT THE BARBER/ STYLIST
Raj begin his barbering career in the most humblest as well as riskiest way imaginable. While in prison. The risk came in the form of having to cut inmates hair who would love to find any reason to fight or worst if you do something to offend them. So without saying, he had to be a pretty good barber, and trustworthy. The humbleness came in the form of giving guys free hair cuts in his spare time. Once he wrapped up his day at the prison barbershop, guys would still request his services. But Raj viewed it as a form of giving back and time to perfect his craft. With years under his belt with experience cutting, locking, and braiding hair; it became obvious that a barbershop of some form, would be in his future. WHAT IS SPEAK LIFE URBAN CLOTHING AND ACCESSORIES? Speak Life Urban Clothing and Accessories is a retail store that was founded and established in 2021. It's one of thee entities that's under the Speak Life brand. Owner and founder Ta-Raj Benness aka Raj turned his childhood dream into a reality after the launch of his clothing store.
