Out of an innate desire to create, HDH was founded in the Spring of 2010 by the combination of Lisa Hackwith, lead designer; and husband Dustin Hackwith lead graphic artist. Both Dustin and Lisa grew up in rural parts of the Midwest in families that one; had a natural instinct to be creative, two; resourcefulness, and three; unrestrained boundaries. With this in mind, HDH came into being out of a family tradition of making Christmas presents; specifically the “fashion fleece”, a new take on a warm, winter sweater for both men and women. From the fashion fleece sprung a desire to make clothing for men and women that was different than the status quo, fashionable, and highly functional. Shortly after the fashion fleece, in a swirl of beautiful floral and color blocked dresses, spring brought with it the creation of Hackwith Design House’s women's wear. Buyers began to notice and Hackwith Design House soon found itself in boutiques across America and even a few worldwide.

Something familiar, made new again! For this collection, we’ve been reworking vintage and secondhand men’s button-up shirts, adding ruching details throughout to create a new shape and fit. The result is a little unexpected: the ease of a classic button-up, with a more fitted, feminine silhouette and thoughtful details that make each piece feel entirely its own. Each shirt starts with an existing garment, giving it a second life rather than starting from scratch. And because every shirt is sourced individually, no two are exactly alike. The fabric, color, and character of each piece make it one of a kind. Shop online or in person Idun to find your perfect fit!

Made again. Made differently. Made to be yours. Over the past year I’ve been taking vintage and secondhand necklaces apart, collecting the pieces I love, and reworking them into something entirely new. Each necklace is thoughtfully assembled from existing materials, giving old pieces a second life rather than letting them go to waste.
And because each one is made from a different mix of vintage finds, no two necklaces are exactly alike.
A small collection of these one-of-a-kind necklaces is now available online, with each piece available only once!

New in today! A Limited Edition Dress made from soft black bamboo fabric, it has the easy, flowing shape of our Double V Kaftan with ruched detailing gathered around the neckline and along the back. Only 6 of these beauties were made!

Introducing a very special collection of a little something old made new again! For this collection, I’ve been taking vintage and secondhand jewelry apart, mixing the pieces together, and remaking them into one-of-a-kind jewelry that feels entirely new. I’ve also been reworking classic button-up shirts with ruching details through, giving them a more fitted, flattering shape while keeping all the things I love about a good button-up! Nothing mass produced, nothing exactly alike. Just pieces thoughtfully reworked and made to be worn in a new way. These are available in person only Idun so come stop by and see what catches your eye!
