Hi there! I’m Lauren, founder of Lumi Kids Co. I’m currently a stay at home Mom of two, Lucie (4) and Milo (13 months), and a surprise baby is coming in November. COVID-19 truly through a wrench in our life. My hubby Phill and I both lost our jobs in the restaurant industry, and then we found out we were expecting! Many changes were on the horizon for our family unit, and it took more than a few months to get into a groove. I began to try and figure out ways to save money on groceries, clothing, etc. But, I was having a hard time finding quality secondhand kid’s clothing and toys.

This prompted a few brainstorming sessions with my better half about what the future holds for us. With a gap in the local children’s resale market here in the Twin Cities, we landed on creating a hassle-free, local full-service consignment service—with an online marketplace featuring gently used children’s clothing, toys, books, and gear. It’s been two solid months of a lot of entrepreneurial learning, but I’ve managed to get Lumi Kids Co off the ground. “Lumi” is the combination of Lucie and Milo’s first two letters (sorry baby!).

Our goal is to be a solution and an opportunity for people to buy and sell gently used children’s clothing, toys, books, and gear with convenience, confidence, and safety in mind. We promise to provide a seamless process for families to clear out unused and outgrown kid clutter while putting money back into their pockets. Let’s be honest, raising small humans is SPENDY.
