🌎 Worldview 🧐
We are shaped by our experiences. The things that we repeatedly subject ourselves to, the things we choose to look toward, our surroundings, and circumstances that are outside our control.
If you choose to stay in the negative, you tend to think of the world more negatively. I know it’s easy to go down the rabbit hole, especially nowadays. We live in chaotic times, and there is no shortage of things competing for our attention…
But eventually, what we continually look to begins to influence how we see everything else.
We can allow the world around us to define what we believe is true, what we believe is important, and ultimately what we believe is worth living for. Or we can intentionally choose what shapes us.
That’s why it’s important to look beyond the noise.
The world will constantly offer us something to fill the God-sized hole in our hearts, success, money, politics, relationships, entertainment, recognition, even our own accomplishments. And none of it can ultimately fill it.
What we look toward matters. What we allow to shape us matters.
Colossians 3:2 “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things”
This is one of my first photo manipulation projects I completed during my time at Rasmussen University. Perfect? No. But it captures what I was aiming for aesthetically.
I originally got into Graphic Art because I wanted to be an Illustrator. Learning different techniques and mediums has caused me to grow and really stretch myself. Now, photo manipulation has become one of my favorite styles.
I love realism with adjustments that cause deeper thought. It isn’t always necessary, but sometimes an image can communicate something that words alone can’t.
For me, this piece is less about what you see in the image and more about what you choose to look toward.
