Army Ranger Jon Jackson founded Comfort Farms in 2014 in Milledgeville, Georgia, naming it in honor of Captain Kyle Comfort—a fellow Ranger who was killed by an IED in Afghanistan in 2010.
After serving six combat deployments, Jackson returned home carrying the invisible wounds of war. When he faced his own battle with PTSD, farming became his path to healing.
Today, Comfort Farms is a 20-acre regenerative farm where veterans can reconnect with purpose by working the land while they await VA treatment.
Through Jackson’s innovative Agro-Cognitive Behavior Therapy program, nearly 100 veterans have found hope, healing, and a renewed sense of purpose.
Sometimes healing doesn’t begin in a clinic—it begins with a seed, a shovel, and a community that understands.
