We are back from our 2 week trip to Normandy France! We had such a great time together. As we celebrate Memorial Day today here in the US, I am so grateful we were able to visit some important landmarks in France involving Dday. It has been a bucket list visit for my husband and I, and it truly was amazing. There are memorials and markers all over Normandy. We are so grateful for the many men and women, past and present, who have sacrificed so much for our freedoms. It was very special to visit there so close to Dday (June 6th) and our Memorial Day. If you are ever interested in reading or watching more about this massive historical event, I highly recommend “The Longest Day” by Cornelius Ryan. It reads almost like a novel but is all historical and very detailed. “Band of Brothers” on HBO Max is a series that we watch every year starting memorial day weekend, and is based on actual events and men of the 101st airborne paratroopers.
