A little peak at what I’ve been up to lately 🤫. Lots of work is happening behind the scenes right now, and I can’t wait to share it with you all. I’ve still got quite a bit of work to do, but I get closer to the finish line everyday, so stay tuned and keep your eyes out for the big reveal!

With the warm weather making a swift and much needed return, I’ve found myself wanting to sit outside reading for hours on end. Of course when it’s time to set that book down we all need a good bookmark that’s durable and doesn’t fall out. Which is why I consistently find myself grabbing one of my own handmade bookmarks.

They are made of 100% cotton making them super durable, and they always remain visible while also staying in place and keeping your page, that way you can quickly open your book and relax no matter how far you and your book have traveled. And just in case you have an accident, they can easily be washed in your washing machine. These are one of my personal favorites, and they really are the perfect bookmark! After completing my lovely patchwork curtain, I was left with plenty of leftover scraps that I didn’t want to go to waste. So I have begun making some other home decor items in order to use up as much of this beautiful fabric as possible before it gets turned into stuffing. The first of which, is this small but gorgeous patchwork decorative pillow! I haven’t decided what my next project will be just yet, but I’m sure I’ll know soon!

For the last week and a half l've been working on a little project for myself. A beautiful patchwork curtain panel for my living room! It is made of 100% cotton fabric including some reclaimed fabric from discarded clothing
😁. I still wanted it to be as sheer as
possible, so rather than adding a lining to the panel, I decided to simply French seam all of the patchwork panels together.
And I know, normally we want two curtain panels, but I dearly love my children, and they dearly love their Cat TV (a.k.a the window), so l've compromised with one.😅

In an attempt to keep my tree standing up right against my kitties, I made a weighted Christmas tree skirt! It’s made of 100% cotton and weighs approximately 20lbs. And I’m happy to report my tree is still standing!!

Putting in lots of hours getting bookmarks and Christmas trees ready for the upcoming market, all while doing some alterations for a client. It’s been an incredibly busy month for me so far, and we haven’t even made it half way yet. Hopefully things continue as they are, and I guess for now I’ll just be working on more Christmas trees!!

After lots of cutting, sewing, and ironing, I'm finally making some headway! Products are coming to fruition, and my inventory is increasing. For now I'll have some basic home goods like pot holders and bookmarks, as well as holiday decor. The date is fast approaching though, so I really better get going. Luckily I am getting closer to the homestretch!

Today has been off to a great start. This morning I was going through and trying to remove the album I had made when I originally started this page because I usually forget to add the photos anyway. Well I managed to delete the album, but in doing so it also deleted all of the posts and photos that were in the album completely. Usually this isn’t an issue as I can just recover them, but for some reason they are just gone. I haven’t figured out another method to recover them, so for today I will be reposting the deleted posts and photos. And then I’ll be back to my regularly scheduled content tomorrow. 🤦‍♀️

A client commissioned alteration to a jacket. A few repairs were done as well, but the addition of the faux fur is the star of the show, and will help them bring their cosplay character to life!

It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these, and lot’s of new friends have joined me since then so I figured it’s high time I do another!

Hello Everyone! I’m Bree, the proud owner and seamstress here at Opulent Stitch. I am the heart and hand’s behind every creation you see here, whether it’s a purse, a pillow, or full blown outfit.

My love and passion for sewing began at an early age, when I started sewing with my grandma for 4-H, which I participated in for years. Despite my academic journey leading me to a degree in Diesel Technology and a short career as a Diesel Mechanic, my true calling has always been the craft of sewing and designing. I dream to one day have my own fashion line, but for now I am thrilled to be able to help you all alter, mend, and upgrade your wardrobes and anything else that may need it.

I want to thank you all for following along. It truly means the world to me! And don’t forget to visit my website and check out all of the current creations for sale!

This past week I got to work on a lovely heirloom bunny that had recently been passed down. Shortly after arriving to her new home, her arm fell off. BunBun came to me for a much needed fix and some extra tlc to freshen her up.

I reattached her arm and reinforced her other limbs to ensure that this won’t easily happen again. I removed her button eyes and reattached them so they were also secure and no longer loosey goosey. Her new person also wanted BunBun to have a little wardrobe change, and designed a brand new dress for her dear friend, so I made that happen!

I absolutely loved working on her and drafting such a small, little pattern. And after all of that, BunBun is now headed home, all fixed up and ready to get some love!
