Legend of the Tower Gang
Certain situations call for specific music. Never underestimate the power of the right song at the right moment. If we're doing it right, life is a wild ride.
It will be a rollercoaster for every one of your senses, mind, body, and soul. Climbing steep inclines one moment, a slight pause at the peak & then a full speed, balls to the walls plunge through white knuckle twists and turns, that ends with you arriving peacefully where the whole thing began.
One minute, you're young and coming of age in the middle of summer vacation. Next, you're driving around solo at night after the late shift, wondering where the years went. Somewhere in between you had your first kiss, got your first car, fell in love with a rival gang leader's sister, pulled your knife on some one, saw far off places and went to your first funeral, got drunk, got sober & got rich.
Whether you're out hopping fences all night or you're getting ready to get married, you'll need just the right songs every time.
Maybe some of the songs on this list will fit the bill for one of those moments.

Over the years I have gained a real affinity for old music from other countries.
This came partly from searching for obscure bits to sample, back in my beat making days. Looking outside the usual soul, funk & jazz that most heads were mining, world music was a sure shot for unique sounds.
I continued to encounter these tunes from from far off lands by way of movie soundtracks, compilation albums, old girl friends & occasionally the local public radio stations.
Good music can be a time machine, a mood altering substance, and a one way ticket to vivid daydreams.
Listening to music from other times and places has long been a part of my creative process. In my opinion, it's one of the best ways to get yourself out of mundane daily thoughts and point you in a more imaginative direction.
This playlist ranges from Arabic jazz, African psychedelia, calypso, early American jazz, soul, doo w*p, retro French sounds & more.
Hope you find a song or two you can add to your regular rotation.
