📣Attention San Angelo & surrounding areas!! 📣
👗It’s about that time of year again!! 👗
I’ll be out in the San Angelo area in the next few weeks to pickup dresses!!! Please share so that we can get the word out!! Thank you so much for your support!! 🩷🩷🩷
For those who are unfamiliar with The Glass Slipper; this is a nonprofit organization that I created last year.
My name is Chambray Phemister and I am currently a college student at Angelo State University. I’ve always had this thought in the back of my mind every year when prom season comes around. I can’t imagine the stress that girls and their parents go through every year trying to scramble to find a dress that not only looks good but doesn’t break the budget. On top of all that, the dress is only used for one night and then just sits in the closet for years untouched. That’s when I decided to take action to solve some of these problems. I decided to create a non-profit organization to let girls try on and find a prom dress to “rent” completely free of charge. I completely understand how hard it is to find the money for a dress and that’s when I decided I didn’t want to charge girls a dime to rent the dresses. The purpose of this organization is to help ease the stress of prom/winter formal dress shopping and help any girl who wants to wear one!
I wanted the name of this organization to tie into Cinderella somehow because I have always loved Cinderella movies and loved how she wears the most beautiful dress at the ball. After much thought and consideration, I landed on the name the “Glass Slipper.” I started this organization because I want girls to be able to find their “perfect fit” for prom!!👠
I will be traveling with the dresses to Haskell at some point next month, and will have them on display for girls to try on and rent!! I am based in San Angelo, so I might have an event here as well!
This organization will be completely free to girls and completely non-profit, however, if you would like to donate, it would help me pay for the cost of dry cleaning, storage, etc.!
Also, if you or anyone you know has a dress that you are willing to part with or let me use for a short time please reach out to me!!
