Join us for the opening of Pet Parade, our popular exhibit — now in its 5th year — featuring Cedars artist renditions of Marin Humane adopted pets, and celebrate with a live Pet Parade & Dog Mingle!

Cedars x Marin Humane x San Anselmo — Friday, September 11, 6–8 pm at Artist Within – A Cedars Gallery, 603 San Anselmo Ave, San Anselmo.

See more info about the Pet Parade on Magnolia Ave, and the musical performance by Andrew Byars and Spencer Acton inside the gallery.

📍 Heads up: it's also "Live on the Avenue" in San Anselmo that night — downtown streets close at 4:30 pm, and it'll be lively with foot traffic, so plan your arrival accordingly.

Team Picks Part 1 ! Featuring some favs that are still available in the current exhibition *On The Map: Gathering Progressive Art Studios*

1. Greg Gazzano's "Three Rings", watercolor on paper, 12 x 16 in

This piece highlights the reasons I love watercolor. The luminous colors have mixed and pooled slightly on the page, and the pigment settled into the ring shapes that Greg laid down with great confidence! - NF

2. Hacer Acma's "Untitled", acrylic & graphite on paper, 28.5 x 21 in

I chose this painting, because it spoke to the inspiration of the exhibition, where we invited the artists to explore themes of identity and place. The portraits were especially powerful. I appreciate the full length of the figures and the bold paint. Graphite lines only show through in one area of the taller figure's face. - NF

3. Michael Cocchiarella's "Flight Plan", ink on paper, 13 x 16 in

This drawing feels 3-D to me, which could be from the use of several tones of ink used. I see a bird staring down a helicopter. The bird reminds me of a hummingbird that visits me every morning and flutters near my face :) - SJ

I chose this piece because it has so much rhythm and is a beautiful depiction of friendship. I am also drawn to the color palette - pink and red and navy blue! Two friends dancing through life's challenges together. - LN

This is what it's all about : The connections we have made in recent years; sharing the exhibition "On the Map: Gathering Progressive Art Studios"; and fulfilling the verb of the subtitle - with visits and tours from the partnering studios included in the show!

We met so many of the artists and their art facilitators! Thank you SO much for all of the efforts to make this exhibition work together! 💯🌹🎉
