Signature Stick / Immortal Series Announcement

I first became aware of Scorpion Percussion back in January 2025 at Namm Show in Anaheim.

I first met Doug, the owner of Scorpion Percussion, at the January 2026 NAMM Show in Anaheim through a mutual friend. He offered me the opportunity to try a couple of pairs of the Immortal Series 8D Barrel 16.5” Lacquer drumsticks, and from the very first session I knew I had finally found the perfect sticks.

Not only are the products exceptional, but Doug and the Scorpions team passion, professionalism, and commitment to drummers are second to none. He later offered me the opportunity to become an immortal artist. Only a select number of artists earn their way through our drummer artist program to the Immortal level This was an absolute honor.

Since then, Doug and I have spoken regularly—either via email or Zoom—roughly every fortnight. The support, communication, and genuine interest he shows in his artists is outstanding.

Quality stick, but note that it is heavier than the 7A sticks made by other companies. The ball tip is a bit larger than ball tips on other sticks and the Scorpion tip provides great definition on ride cymbals. I'm using the 16.5" on rock gigs and may test out this stick in a 16" length for jazz.
