Myth: "I have a sketch, so I'm ready for production."

A sketch shows how a garment should feel. A tech pack tells a pattern maker and a sewing team how to build it: front and back technical flats, points of measure, seam and stitch types, fabric and trim callouts, label placement and grading notes.

Big news from ARGYLE Haus: our founder and CEO, Houman Salem, has joined University of Redlands, Woodbury University as an Adjunct Professor in the School of Fashion.

Beginning this fall, Houman is teaching FDES 400, a senior level course where fashion students build both their career toolkit and a full business plan before they graduate. After 22 years in the fashion industry and helping launch more than 1,000 brands, he’s bringing real factory floor experience into the classroom, because design talent alone doesn’t build a business.

This is also a full circle moment. ARGYLE Haus has supported Woodbury’s School of Fashion for over a decade through fashion show sponsorships, hiring students and faculty, an internship program, and material donations. Now that relationship goes straight into the classroom.

Woodbury recently became part of the University of Redlands, backing its industry connected design programs with even more resources. Excited to see what this next chapter brings for both ARGYLE and the students Houman will mentor.

Most new brands start with the logo. The brands that last start with the product. 🧭
