Used a little creative freedom to cover a diagonal rip at the back of this light and airy summer dress. I think this lace perfectly captures the spirit of this dress and makes the repair nearly invisible. It’s now a feature of the dress!
Not a true before photo, but trust me it was a substantial rip🤦♀️

She’s a beauty! Fixed up this heirloom leather bomber jacket over the summer (and just now getting to posting). I replaced the elbow panels, repaired a few puncture wounds, and patched the lining. Swipe to see the before condition ➡️

Elbow patches ♻️
Do you recognize this patching fabric? I used it on a previous jacket repair, and I am using it on an army jacket glow up as we speak. I utilize my scrap pile consisting of vintage fabrics, donated clothes, and remnants from local fabric shops for all of my repairs. And every scrap that can be used, is used.
Those scraps that are too small, and every byproduct of my production (thread clippings, broken zipper tape, etc.) are donated to a local maker in the community who uses it as fill for decorative pillows!

I’ll let you in on a secret. I rarely wore denim before I started working on it. Denim seemed boring in comparison to all of the beautiful printed skirts and dresses I could wear instead.
Now, I live in denim. Specifically two vintage pair: one 90’s Guess, one 70’s Levi’s. I found both at my local Salvation Army.
I wear them and patch them in the name of research. They are well lived and well loved.
