Golden Bear Sportswear 103 Year Old Premier Outerwear Manufacturer & Brand Independently-owned in San Francisco, CA Since 1922 For over 80 years we have clothed our culture.

Since 1922 Golden Bear has made quality outerwear for those who want a sturdy piece of Americana. We made durable goatskin bomber jackets for fighter pilots in World War II. Our wool-body, leather-sleeve varsity jackets kept dockworkers warm in the 1920’s, high School and college kid’s ‘lettered’ since the ‘50’s, and today Chris Browne, Swizz Beat, and Snoop Dogg wear hip versions of this vintage

style. During the ‘60’s through the ‘80’s our local San Francisco entertainers, such as Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, The Doobie Brothers and The Grateful Dead, wore our suede styles. In more recent years our soft lambskin jackets and luxurious wool coats have been sold in the best retail stores in New York. Today the tradition continues.
