Not my typical content, but Saturday my partner took me to Pokemon World XP.
I’ve been a Pokemon fan ever since I was 7 years old, and had a short lived time designing official Pokemon product that I hold dearly in my heart, and this convention was healing in a way I really needed.
Defying my “no practice, only perfect” compulsion, I did a super casual Chandalure Cosplay, with an adorable 3D printed headpiece that my partner printed (who did an even more casual Smosh “the Chosen” cosplay)
I haven’t dressed up in so long, and I forgot how much fun it is.
And while I didn’t get into any of the workshops, I did get to squeal and meet some Yuka Morii in the clay, and see some gorgeous expanded TCG art, fashion pieces, cosplays, fun booths, wonderful outdoor displays, mascots, and just…pure unadulterated joy.
In a time where the hopeful millenium we were promised is a fleeting daydream, it’s nice to just have gotten to indulge in some nostalgia for a little bit.
